At the core is a bold 13″ x 7″ snare that cuts through the mix while retaining the nuanced expression of a live drummer. Paired with a custom-sampled 18″ kick that delivers a consistent, solid punch, the groove foundation is unmistakable.

 

Lush, naturally resonant toms respond beautifully to subtle playing, while shimmering cymbals provide fluid groove flow. Accent crashes swell from gentle waves to explosive bursts.

 

Pop Latino is the default recommended drumset for BeatBuddy users playing the Handy Grooves: Latin Caribbean Drumset Rhythms MIDI pack and Handy Grooves: Afro Latin Caribbean Rhythms.

The drumset was remixed from the ground up to deliver more natural-sounding drums, more presence and less ambiance on the fuller-sounding toms, and more ambiance on the snare drum. 

 

The v1 already included: conga, güiro, jam block, and mambo bell– giving your grooves the unmistakable flavor of the tropics. An additional percussion section has been added to enable Pop Latino to faithfully reproduce Latin Pop Rock grooves from the Afro Latin Caribbean Rhythms pack.

 

Newly added instruments to Pop Latino are: shekere, tambora, cencero bell, cha-cha bell, timbales cascara, guira, tumba, maracas, timbales, quinto, bongos, bongo bell, and bombo.

 

The installer includes:

  • Pop Latino drumset (includes percussion instruments)
  • Latin Percussion v3 drumset (replaces the default Latin drumset, introduces several new percussion instruments while removing drumset samples: cajita, tambora, Peruvian cajon, new timbales and timbale cymbal, panderetas, tumba bass, mambo bell, and bombo)
  • Bata drums drumset (necessary to play bata drumming grooves)

MULTIPLE DYNAMIC LEVELS FOR DRUMSETS

Each drum and cymbal was sampled at many dynamic levels to faithfully capture the instrument’s full dynamic range.

 

Each instrument comes with enough dynamic levels to produce a believable performance on your guitar pedal drummer.

ROUND-ROBIN SAMPLES FOR DRUMSETS

A human ear can intuitively tell the difference between the same snare sample played repeatedly and a real drummer playing a snare drum. When a drummer strikes a drum, each sub-sequential stroke is slightly different from the one before, no matter how consistently they are played.

 

We sampled each drum and cymbal numerous times at various dynamic levels to solve this. Then, during playback, samples are swapped, and a different sample is triggered for each hit.

If you use BeatBuddy, you are familiar with Goran Rista’s work. As the sole drummer producer of the original content distributed on the BeatBuddy and BeatBuddy Mini for the last decade, Goran was critical to the BeatBuddy's success and popularity. He also produced 99.5% of the premium content previously sold at BeatBuddy Premium Library.
