This is volume 2 of the beats based on the 3-3-2 rhythm but with a swing feel! All beats from Volume 1 are swung in this pack, resulting in somewhat funkier grooves.

A 3-3-2 Beat refers to subdivision accents in a rhythm in a 4/4 time signature, which can also be thought of in terms of subdivision groupings as 123 123 12.

This rhythm is universally found in most cultures around the world in some form. A variation of this rhythmic grouping is the basis for beats such as the Brazilian Baio, Trinidad’s Calypso, Puerto Rican Bomba and Reggaeton, the US’s Charleston, and Spanish Rumba, as well as the various rhythms in the Middle East, India, and Africa.

This massive collection of 3-3-2 beat variations will cover many musical styles. A staggering number of 725 beats have been arranged into 77 songs, which you can easily preview to find suitable rhythms for your needs.

This pack contains only swung versions of these beats. Straight eight- or sixteenth-note feel versions are available in the 3-3-2 Rhythms pack.

All drum loops included in our collection are clean and loop seamlessly. They have been carefully edited and programmed so that each note sounds as it would in real life if played by a human drummer.

MICRO-DYNAMICS

A rhythm played on a percussive instrument can have many dynamic levels within a single bar. Some notes are strong and used to spell out the main rhythm, while others are soft and “ghosted,” providing the much-needed flow. They act as “time glue,” bridging the gaps between accented notes while delivering a subliminal sense of time and groove.

Further, as the velocity of drum playing changes, articulations may also change, so having those at the correct levels is essential for natural-sounding grooves.

Our drum loops have the appropriate microdynamics to make them sound as natural as possible when played back through one of our drumsets on the BB.
