The Ultimate Afro-Latin Percussion and Drumset Rhythms MIDI Collection

You asked for it. You waited years.

The world’s best-sounding, most comprehensive, truly authentic Afro Latin Caribbean percussion + drum rhythms MIDI collection is finally here.

Goran Rista spent years building this so you can create full, complex, believable percussion arrangements in minutes- without guessing, without “generic Latin” patterns, and without spending hours transcribing complex percussion parts and programming them note by note, hoping they work.

You’ll hear it immediately: authentic feel, authentic rhythm parts and articulations, a wide spectrum of genres, and a massive number of groove variations, fills, and breaks- the exact ingredients you need to make your tracks feel like real players are in the room.

Built specifically for Handy Drums: Latin Percussion & Drums.

This library wasn’t made to be “compatible with everything.” It was made to be perfectly matched to GoranGrooves Handy Drums: Latin Percussion & Drums plugin.

The finest-sounding Latin percussion plugin finally found its MIDI collection match- and it truly is a match made in heaven. Together, they become the ultimate Latin rhythms production tool.

There’s nothing else like this anywhere!

What’s inside

You’ll get the quality and the quantity. Included are the staggering numbers of:

763 Grooves
1,719 Fills
499 Breaks
182 Bonus instrument part variations (Cumbia, Mambo, cascara, tumbao)

And here’s the workflow magic: every groove, fill, and break comes as a single “all parts” MIDI file (instant full performance), plus individual MIDI files for each instrument part (total control). Everything is neatly organized by style- and where needed, by sub-style and composition.

Real roots. Real feel.

These rhythms come from real musical lineages across Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, the French Antilles, and the wider Afro-Latin/Caribbean diaspora that shaped modern styles.

This isn’t “Latin flavor.” It’s the real rhythmic DNA- translated into MIDI you can produce with immediately.

Notes for DAW users: This MIDI collection consists of MIDI files only and, as such, does not contain any audio. You must use the MIDI files in conjunction with the Handy Drums: Latin Percussion & Drums plugin (available separately) in order to produce the sounds as heard on this product page.

Playability with other drum plugins is possible, but it will require re-mapping and manual manipulation of MIDI parts to achieve proper articulations (assuming all instruments and articulations are available in the plugin). Such results are not guaranteed and will most certainly not sound as good as the demos heard on this page.

Notes for BeatBuddy users: Most of the included MIDI loops have been compiled into 275 BeatBuddy songs organized into 4 folders. Dedicated installers will install everything at once into your existing BB project. In order to play all of the included songs, you will need Latin Percussion v3.0, Pop Latino v2.0, and Bata drums drumsets. All three are available as part of the Pop Latino drumset for BeatBuddy package. Without them, some grooves will be missing instruments, while others will not sound at all (bata drums). If you previously purchased the Pop Latino drumset, you can download the latest version from your GoranGrooves Library account.
