The greatest compliment a drummer can receive is that their groove feels good. All real drummers shift the timing of subdivisions and certain beats ever so slightly. The great ones do it in such a way that feels good for the listener.
This collection of midi brush loops is injected with a natural, human feel of a great drummer.
Merely recording even a world-class drummer on an e-drumset doesn’t guarantee the results will translate to an acoustic-like performance.
We carefully edited or programmed each note. As you can hear, our brush loops sound as close as possible to what a great drummer using brushes would sound on acoustic drums. We ensured that the feel was consistent while keeping the brush grooves loop seamlessly.
While usually used in lower-volume musical settings, drums played with brushes have a vast dynamic range.
Micro-dynamics can make or break a groove. Even at lower dynamics, drums stricken with brushes sound different depending on how soft they are played. They add articulation and expression to the groove, much like we speak.
Our brushes midi loops contain the all-important realistic dynamics and articulations to convey the natural performance down to the most subtle levels. With the occasional brush sweeps thrown into the mix, they’ll make your rhythm section groove with joy.
A good blend of human timing, microdynamics, and appropriate articulations make a groove sit “in the pocket.” We, drummers, never stop working on playing and staying “in the pocket.”
