Whether a percussion groove is recorded or programmed, many minuscule details need to be taken into account before it is ready for prime time. No accidental notes should be present and everything needs to sound as intended and loop seamlessly.

 

Some percussion instruments can have several articulations depending on how they are played. We carefully audition all percussion loops and make the necessary adjustments to the timing, velocity, and articulations while removing unwanted notes.

 

The end result is world percussion loops that are clean, groovy, and musical.

Microdynamics are differences in volume intensities within a single instrument. Quieter “ghost” notes played on percussion propel the groove forward and connect the spaces between the accented rhythms. They act as glue while leaving space for other instruments.
