How to update GoranGrooves drumsets for BeatBuddy #

There are two groups of GoranGrooves-produced drumsets for BeatBuddy available for updating:

• “Default” drumsets
  
• “Premium” drumsets

How To Update Default Drumsets For BeatBuddy #

Updating default drumsets is easy. You can update either the entire default project to GoranGrooves Default Content v2.2 or update the individual default drumsets.

Important facts:

• The “Drumsets only” installer is supplied with the GoranGrooves Default Content for BeatBuddy.

• Installers provided for Windows and MacOS will update the drumsets within a BeatBuddy project directly on your SD card.
  
• The installers will enable you to pick what drumsets from the lot you wish to install.
  
• If drumset names differ from the version you have installed in your BeatBuddy project, the installer will update them and all references to them within your BeatBuddy songs to keep the “default drumset” setting for each song up to date.
  
• Any changes you may have made to the drumsets will be permanently lost after their update.

How To Update Premium Drumsets For BeatBuddy #

Updating GoranGrooves premium drumsets for BeatBuddy is easy and identical to installing them.

Important facts:

• The installers provided for Windows and MacOS will install/update drumsets directly on your SD card.
  
• If drumset names differ from the version you have installed in your BeatBuddy project, the installer will update them and all references to them within your BeatBuddy songs to keep the “default drumset” setting for each song up to date.
  
• Any changes you may have made to the drumsets will be permanently lost after their update.

Updating GoranGrooves beat/ song packs for BeatBuddy is easy and identical to installing them.

Important facts:

• The installers provided for Windows and MacOS will install/update BB song packs directly on your SD card.
  

• If song or folder names differ from the version you have installed in your BeatBuddy project, they will be updated along with their contents.
  

• The installer replaces folders and songs. After their update, any changes you may have made to those songs will be permanently lost. Therefore, export anything you wish to keep from your project, using the BeatBuddy Manager Online software, then re-import it after the update.

How to update GoranGrooves Default Content for BeatBuddy #

Updating GoranGrooves Default Content For BeatBuddy is easy and identical to installing it.

Important facts:

• Since the Default Content is an entire project consisting of drumsets and songs, updating is essentially installing a new version of the project.
  
• The most current version is 2.2.
  If you are updating from version 2.1, you may wish only to update the drumsets. The Default Content comes with a “drumsets only” installer, allowing you to update only the drumsets without affecting any songs. You will find this option under the available options in the downloads. Please see this document for the instructions.
  
• If you are updating from versions before 2.1, the update essentially means installing the project’s latest version.
  
• If you created your own content using portions of a previous version of the Default Content, you will need first to export your content to your hard disk using BeatBuddy Manager Online software, install the latest version of GoranGrooves Default Content, and then import your custom content into it using the software you used for export.
  
• The installers provided for Windows and MacOS will install the GoranGrooves Default Content for BeatBuddy project directly on your SD card.

How to update GoranGrooves Complete Collection for BeatBuddy #

Updating the GoranGrooves Complete Collection for BeatBuddy is straightforward with our dedicated updater installer.

You will find all options available in your GoranGrooves Library account, DOWNLOADS tab, by pressing the download button for the Complete Collection product. They are all neatly organized and clearly labeled for an intuitive workflow.

Important facts:

• The Complete Collection is provided with several options to better suit your needs:
  
  • FULL PROJECT
  • UPDATER Only
  • INCREMENTAL UPDATES for new releases or updated products, provided as individual products
    
    
    
• The FULL PROJECT installers contain the most current version of the Complete Collection. The procedure is the same as the initial installation of the collection. It must be installed on a blank SD card. This suits users who have made no changes to their existing Complete Collection. Detailed instructions are here, option #1.
  
  
• The UPDATER ONLY installer contains only the GoranGrooves premium content (drumsets and songs) without any default content. This suits users who have custom content or have made changes to their BeatBuddy project.
  
  
  • The updater installer allows you to deselect any components you do not wish to update or install.
    
    
  • The updater installer will overwrite existing drumsets and song packs when found in your project that match the installer’s content and add any new content, appending it to the list of available songs and drumsets. Content not included in the installer, such as the Default Content, 3rd party content, or your custom content outside the GoranGrooves song folders, will not be touched by the updater installer.
    
    
  • If the updater installer updates drumsets, resulting in their name changes (eg, Vintage Ludwig to Vintage Standard), it will also update any references to those drumsets in all songs in your project.
    
    
  • The installers provided for Windows and macOS will update the existing Complete Collection directly on your SD card. For detailed information, see this document, option #2.
    
    
• INCREMENTAL UPDATES allow you to install only the newly added content or reinstall previously released content that has been updated. This suits users who wish to append new content to their current project, as they may be referencing it with external tools, such as onSong.
  
  
  • Incremental updates will indicate from what version to what version the update is for. For example, if edition 2025.1 contains new content, you will see a folder “v2025.0 to v2025.1 Update Only”. Inside the folder, you will find installers for each new or updated individual product, under the available OS platforms.
    
    
  • Updated products will be indicated with a “refresh” icon, while the new products will be indicated with a “box” icon.
    
    
  • If you install a product update, your current version of the product (eg, Songwriter Brushes) will be replaced with a new one, and any changes you may have made to it will be lost.
    
    
  • You need to install all available incremental updates to have your project up to date. For example, if your project is currently 2024.0 and the available updates are “v2024 to v2024.2” and “v2024.2 to v2024.3”, you must install the contents of two incremental updates.
