All GoranGrooves drumsets for BeatBuddy exclusively sold or made available at the GoranGrooves Library contain version numbers embedded as instruments assigned to MIDI note #127 (G8).
This function is available only for GoranGrooves drumsets for BeatBuddy, released August 2024 onward.
There are three ways to check a drumset’s version number.
Option 1: Play the “Drumset Version Check” song #
All GoranGrooves drumsets for BeatBuddy installers will install a BB song called “Drumset version check” in addition to the drumset. The BB song will be installed at the bottom of your available content.
To check a drumset version, first select the desired drumset for which you wish to check the version by using the DRUMSET knob on your pedal. Scroll through the available drumsets and press the knob to select it.
Then, navigate through the available song folders (using the navigation arrows on your pedal) and select the “Drumset version check” at the bottom of the list.
Press the main pedal to initiate the playback. You will hear something like “Version two point one” in a loop until you stop the playback by double-pressing the main pedal.
Option 2: Trigger note #127 (G0) using an external MIDI controller connected to your BeatBuddy’s MIDI input. #
When triggering note #127, you will hear the version number like “Version two point one” coming from the BeatBuddy audio output.
Option 3: View the version number in the software #
Open your BeatBuddy project using either the BeatBuddy Manager or BeatBuddy Manager Online software, available from Singular Sound, and navigate to the Drumsets tab. When opening drumsets for editing, the instrument under #127 will be named as the version number, for example, “Version 2.1.”
You will find instrument #127 at the top of the available instruments in BeatBuddy Manager Online and at the bottom of the BeatBuddy Manager software.
For this purpose, we recommend the BeatBuddy Manager Online.
